The Strategic Research (and Innovation) Agendas of JPI Climate and FACCE-JPI offer various opportunities for synergies. The Governing Board Chairs and Secretariat representatives of both initiatives discussed possibilities for collaboration at the sidelines of the JPI Climate Scoping Forum of 26-27 March 2018.

These for example include collaboration on cross-sectoral impact assessments of climate change and the development of pathways to carbon neutrality (e.g. in the agri-food sector), as well as joint outreach and advocacy efforts and collaboration in JPI research strategy development. Closer collaboration would strengthen European knowledge on climate change impacts and possible response options, and contribute to better structuring European research efforts and resources in the climate action area.
