Prof. Anne Marte Tronsmo, Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) member
Professor Tronsmo is Professor in Plant Pathology at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). Before that, she was employed at the Norwegian Plant Protection Institute for 10 years. She served as the University’s Pro Vic-Chancellor and head of the study board during the implementation of the Bologna system, and the restructuring of the study program.
Her research has a strong focus on plant pathology, ranging from fungal diseases to winter stress in agricultural and horticultural plants. Since the establishment of the Norwegian Scientific Committee for Food Safety (VKM) in 2004, she has been a member of the committee´s Plant Health panel.
Formerly she was the President of the Norwegian Society of Plant Pathology and represented this society in the International Society of Plant Pathology and the European Federation in Plant Pathology. She has been a member of a number of panels and committees at the research council and ministry level, representing the interests of agriculture and plant breeding scientists.
As part of her current position as a professor at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences her research also looks at adaptation of crops to future climates and spans crops grown in Norway as well as in African countries.
